Updates on New Title IX Federal Regulations
Has the current policy changed at UCCS?
The university has not yet made any changes to our current Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Abuse and Stalking Policy or the OIE Procedures in response to the new regulations. These policies and procedures remain in effect for any current reports or adjudications.
As always, the campus remains committed to ensuring a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living and working environment for everyone and we will continue to prioritize strong and effective prevention and response efforts for our campus community.
When will the new regulations go into effect?
We are reviewing the new regulations to determine what changes will need to be made to our policies and procedures to ensure compliance by August 14, 2020, and we’ll keep the campus apprised of our progress.
Where can I find more information about the new federal regulations?
Here are some pertinent links from the U.S. Department of Education:
Title IX Regulations Addressing Sexual Harassment (Unofficial Copy) (while the document is more than 2,000 pages long, the actual text of the regulation starts at P. 2,008)

Who can I talk to if I have additional questions?
OIE staff can further explain our current processes and also provide information about support measures and resources. General questions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
